XLeap Portable Server Commercial Edition
Easy handling
The Portable Server is made for non-technical people. Power up and connect a wireless access point to the Ethernet port. Log in with your browser (http) and run your session or event. The built-in DHCP server provides IP addresses for up to 239 participant computers. Add routers if 239 computers are not enough. It’s that easy.
Subscription Model
Purchase of a Portable Server starts with buying the server box. You then purchase a subscription for the server software, adding at least one Host subscription. Hosts can move their sessions between their networked XLeap environment and a Portable Server by downloading and uploading them as a file.
In contrast to XLeap's customary 'named' subscription scheme, Host subscriptions on Portable Servers are not personal (learn more). If you allow it, any member of your team can just grab the server and run an engaging and productive workshop or event – anywhere!
Host subscriptions on Portable Servers support a defined number of concurrent participants: 25, 50, 100, 200 or over 200.
Portable Server Hardware
The Portable Server box packs the latest Intel technology into an ultra small, dustproof, industrial grade, fanless aluminum chassis. Running from a solid state disk, the ‘power’ button remains the only moving part. The Portable Server is ‘headless’, meaning that you simply switch it on or off. All configuration and maintenance occur through the browser. The robust server operating system (AlmaLinux) guarantees stability.
Note: As they are designed and licensed for deployment off the Internet, Portable Servers do not offer conferencing services.
